Philip was also Senior Curator at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. His academic specialization is in historic and contemporary Scottish and\, wider British art and design\, on which he has curated many exhibitions and written widely. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTony Jones CBE was Director of the Mackintosh-designed Glasgow School of Art\, Director the Royal College of Art\, and President of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. HM Queen Elizabeth conferred him the honour of Commander of the British Empire in 2000.
