Burns Night Supper

The Chicago Scots are partnering with the Gorton Center and the History Center of Lake Forest-Lake Bluff to host the celebration of 18th-century Scottish poet Robert Burns!
Ian Houston will be delivering the Immortal Memory Address.
Ian Houston is based in Washington, DC. He writes a monthly column for the Herald Scotland and Cornwall, UK newspapers. He is a Trustee of the Robert Burns Ellisland Farm outside Dumfries Scotland. He is also a GlobalScot and a SBN and BPS Ambassador. He serves as an Honorary Professor and Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland and University of Aberdeen.
A wide assortment of Scotch Whiskies will be provided to sample including the famous Arran Robert Burns Single Malt, Balblair, Old Pulteney and many more.
Every year at our Scottish Festival & Highland Games, the Chicago Scots feature a family or an organization as our Honored Clan. This year, to recognize and celebrate its’ strong Scottish roots, our Honored Clan is Rotary International. We are proud to announce that Rotary International’s Scottish President, Gordon McInally has agreed to lead our Parade of Tartans at 12:30 p.m. Gordon will also receive the Salute to the Chieftain from the Massed Pipe Bands at approximately 6.30pm on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
