
One of the world’s most celebrated Scottish pipe bands is coming to the Chicago area. The Inveraray & District Pipe Band, current and four-time winners of the prestigious World Pipe Band Championships, will perform live on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Pfeiffer Concert Hall on the campus of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois before they compete in the largest pipe band championship in the United States at the 40th Annual Scottish Festival & Highland Games at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton on Saturday June 13, 2026.
This rare U.S. appearance brings Scotland’s premier Grade 1 pipe band to Chicagoland audiences for an unforgettable evening of music, tradition, and cultural celebration.
Tickets to the Inverary & District Pipe Band Concert at North Central College are $50.
Formed in 2005 in Argyll, Scotland, the Inveraray & District Pipe Band has grown from humble beginnings into an international powerhouse, capturing the World Pipe Band Championship 4 times. Led by Pipe Major Stuart Liddell MBE, one of the most accomplished pipers of his generation, the band is renowned for its innovative arrangements, technical precision, and electrifying live performances.
Under the leadership of Pipe Sergeant Alasdair Henderson and Leading Drummer Steven McWhirter—a 12-time World Solo Drumming Champion—the band has earned acclaim not only for its global victories but also for its unique ability to connect with audiences through both traditional and contemporary pipe band music.
